For two people who differ by a given amount on a continuous predictor, a POSC gives the probability that the person with the higher predictor score also has the higher outcome, a probabilistic and decision-oriented alternative to reporting a correlation coefficient. Curves can be computed from a correlation under bivariate normality, from a correlation matrix for an optimally weighted composite of predictors, from a fitted linear model, or estimated directly from raw data with a flexible spline model and bootstrap confidence bands. authors: - family-names: Jané given-names: Matthew B. email: matthewbjane@gmail.com preferred-citation: type: manual title: 'posc: Probability of Outcome Superiority Curves' authors: - family-names: Jané given-names: Matthew B. email: matthewbjane@gmail.com year: '2026' notes: R package version 0.2.0 url: https://github.com/MatthewBJane/posc repository: https://matthewbjane.r-universe.dev repository-code: https://github.com/MatthewBJane/posc commit: 07657c89af6b893120f1ac3097a8f415ace1f6e1 url: https://matthewbjane.com/posc/ date-released: '2026-10-09' contact: - family-names: Jané given-names: Matthew B. email: matthewbjane@gmail.com
